As the saying goes, “Friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they are there”. It couldn’t be said any better for this Scottsdale couples portrait session with Zak and Amanda!
In November 2019, we had gotten the opportunity to capture a very intimate proposal at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort. It was a day filled with genuine happiness, and our connection was like that of rekindling a long-lost friendship. Zak had just flown in from Korea the day before and surprised Amanda with the best gift ever! Then the very next day, they had an evening even more special, a beachside elopement in Florida. It was wonderful getting to spend that day at the Sanctuary with the two of them and getting to know their story.
“Friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they are there”
Fast forward eighteen months, and when we found out Zak was stationed back in Arizona, we knew we wanted to take a moment to see them again and reminisce about their proposal and see where life had taken them. In no time, we picked up right where we left off. Zak being military and stationed in Korea; we got to hear all of the adventures and experiences they got to (safely) enjoy over the past year and a half before coming stateside for their next chapter.
This Scottsdale couples portrait session location had it all. Wonderfully secluded greenery that opened up onto a rocky preserve with the grandest rock formations. Zak and Amanda even braved the elements and allowed us to get them in water. It allowed us to get an even more unique and fun vantage point. It made for a great ending to this Scottsdale couples portrait session. We cannot wait to see where life takes these two, and we look forward to doing it again wherever they may be!
